Back in January, on State Highway 3 between Bulls and Turakina on a wide, and should have been safe, part of the road, German cycle tourist Mia Pusch, was struck by a truck and killed. She was only 19 and she was so far from home.

Ghost bikes are haunting things…
I’ve recently had a reasonably serious cycle accident, and while I was very far from dying, it did remind me that we are pretty fragile (and my accident didn’t even involve road user fault – simply a bad path design).
